Escoliosis
Scoliosis at Medical City McKinney
Pediatric scoliosis care
Through the Medical City Healthcare network, pediatric patients now have access to Medical City Children’s Hospital's scoliosis expertise at Medical City McKinney.
When to schedule an appointment for scoliosis treatment
An abnormal spine curvature may not be visible. However, you might notice some asymmetry in the hips or ribs. Children with scoliosis may also not experience any pain, so it's easy for the problem to go undetected. If asymmetry is present, schedule a doctor's appointment or scoliosis screening.
Toddlers and young children can develop scoliosis, but the condition is more common in adolescents between 10 and 15 years old. Scoliosis signs and symptoms typically become noticeable during puberty.
