Whether they are escorting patients to their destination, providing clerical assistance or serving as a family liaison in the emergency room, their support is an essential ingredient in delivering the highest quality health care available in Tarrant County. Volunteer requirements

Age: Must be 18 years old or older.

Background check: All prospective volunteers must be willing to complete a background check.

Health screening: New volunteers need to provide a current list of immunizations including COVID vaccine and flu vaccine.

New volunteer orientation: Volunteers will receive training respective to the area in which they will be volunteering.

Uniform: A blue volunteer polo shirt is provided by the facility. Volunteers must provide their own khaki pants and closed toe shoes.

Student volunteer program

More and more students are needing volunteer opportunities for high school and college requirements. Medical City North Hills offers an opportunity for students to earn their required hours while serving in a capacity that is fun and rewarding. Student volunteers enjoy the following benefits when participating in this program:

Student volunteers are required to work a minimum of 4 hours per month to qualify for volunteer hours. Weekends shifts are available.

Admission / Registration Volunteer

Location

Main Admission Office area

Schedule: 4 hour shifts

8:00am – Noon or 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Monday – Friday day shifts are open

General Duties

  • Greet Patients
  • Computer Input
  • Medical Records notification
  • Give Directions
  • Keep waiting room area neat and organized
  • Projects as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Friendly Person
  • Clerical Experience a plus
  • Computer skills a plus

ER Volunteer

Location

Emergency Room

Schedule: 4 hour shifts

8:00am - Noon or 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Monday – Thursday shifts are open

General Duties

  • Assist in Greeting patients
  • Build Rainbow tube sets
  • Build Coloring Book for children
  • Keep waiting area organized
  • Stock ER rooms with PPE

Job Requirements

  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Able to be on feet for long periods
  • Friendly People Person
  • Good organizational skills a plus

This would be a great job for a volunteer team. Examples: A husband / wife team, a two member adult team, Retiree team, etc..

Hospitality Volunteer

Location

The following Nursing Units - 6th Floor, 5th Floor, 3rd Floor and 2nd Floor

Schedule: 4 hour shifts

10:00am – 2:00pm

Monday – Friday shifts are open

General Duties

  • Refill all PPE on assigned unit
  • Run errands and make deliveries as requested
  • Fall precaution evaluation
  • Hospitality visits to all patients and visitors
  • Answering telephone

Job Requirements

  • A Friendly person
  • Physically able to stand on feet for long periods
  • Will to spread cheer and blessings
  • Self-starter
