"A" Safety Grade by Leapfrog awarded to Medical City Alliance
Fort Worth, Texas — Medical City Alliance has achieved The Leapfrog Group's elite “A” rating based on patient safety, quality, and other publicly available standards. This is the sixth consecutive cycle the hospital has earned the prestigious hospital safety grade.
Leapfrog, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety, assigns general hospitals across the country an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade based on over 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“Earning this “A” grade for the sixth consecutive time is a testament to our commitment to safety across our system of care,” says Glenn Wallace, CEO of Medical City Alliance. “I am very proud of the excellent care our doctors, nurses and hospital colleagues provide daily to make Medical City Alliance the destination of choice for healthcare excellence in our community.”
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Medical City Alliance, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
