Dallas, Texas — This year, patients and physicians across North Texas will benefit from the addition of twelve new leading-edge robotic surgical systems, expanding Medical City Healthcare’s impressive network to 102 surgical robots. Designed to elevate the standard of care for minimally invasive procedures, these advanced technologies have been strategically deployed at Medical City hospitals in Alliance, Arlington, Dallas, Frisco, Lewisville, McKinney and Plano.

The newly integrated robotic systems give surgeons enhanced control and accuracy, supporting a broad range of adult and pediatric procedures. Patients undergoing general surgery, bariatric, colorectal, gynecology, oncology, thoracic and urology procedures may experience less pain, shorter hospital stays and a quicker return to daily life thanks to this next generation of robotic innovation.

Key features include:

  • Enhanced surgical precision with controllers that reduce vibration and tremor
  • Improved visualization through advanced displays and 3D imaging
  • Force-sensing technology that enables surgeons to measure and control pressure on tissue

By enabling smaller incisions, robotic-assisted surgery can reduce patient tissue trauma, minimize blood loss and scarring, and promote faster recovery. Nearly 15,000 robotic surgeries were performed across the Medical City Healthcare system in 2025.

“These advanced robotic systems reflect our unwavering commitment to innovation and patient-centered care,” says Allen Harrison, division president of Medical City Healthcare. “By expanding access to minimally invasive surgery, we are helping patients recover faster so they can return to their lives and loved ones sooner. It’s another reason Medical City Healthcare hospitals are the destination of choice across North Texas.”

In 2025, Medical City Frisco was the first hospital in the world to deploy a new technology known as “active spine robotics.” That system is designed to assist surgeons in performing minimally invasive spine surgery and features first-of-its-kind tracking technology that continuously adjusts to patient movement during the procedure.
