In most instances, we start post-operative mobilization with our patients the same day as surgery and abide by industry standard of care guidelines to ensure your safety and promote a swift recovery.
Our physical therapy team specializes in working with patients recovering from spine, orthopedic and neurological surgery. They consider your surgeon-approved care plans and help to ensure that your customized care plan is based on your specific surgery and diagnosis, needs and personal goals.

Outpatient physical therapy services
Medical City Spine Hospital offers a wide range of outpatient physical therapy services through Vista Physical Therapy, a leading outpatient physical therapy group in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In partnership with Vista Physical Therapy, we provide patients with convenient access to more than 25 state-of-the-art outpatient physical therapy locations. Vista offers a wide range of pain management, post-surgery rehabilitation and injury prevention services, including sports medicine, ergonomic solutions, aquatic therapy and more.
Vista's specialists will work collaboratively with your support network — from primary physicians to collegiate athletic trainers to caretakers — ensuring a safe return to day-to-day life while optimizing performance and preventing re-injury.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Institute of North Texas
As part of Medical City Dallas, Medical City Spine Hospital patients have access to our Inpatient Rehabilitation Institute of North Texas. During your post-operative hospital stay, our physical therapists work directly with your surgeon to determine the appropriate level of care you will need at discharge to continue a healthy recovery. You may need to spend some time recovering at our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Medical City Dallas to ensure you’re safe to go home.
Under the guidance of our board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, you will continue your customized care plan started with our physical therapy team to progress toward independence. Therapy sessions consist of one-on-one treatment by licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists, with a minimum of 15 hours of individualized, skilled therapy each week.
