Wendy McClain was named chief operating officer of Medical City Arlington

Arlington, Texas — Wendy McClain has been named chief operating officer for Medical City Arlington.

In this role, McClain will serve on the hospital’s executive leadership team and be responsible for business development, facility operations and capital projects, including the $144 million patient tower currently under construction. McClain will also implement growth strategies across the facility, focused on orthopedics and spine, neurosurgery, cardiovascular and other key services.

“Wendy has proven ability and talent for developing trust and fostering impactful relationships with providers, clinical staff, leadership teams and the community,” says Lasharndra Barbarin, CEO of Medical City Arlington. “Her experience in facility and services expansion in key areas will help lead Medical City Arlington to the next level of healthcare excellence.”

McClain comes to the role with more than twenty years of leadership experience in strategic planning, physician engagement, business development, process improvement and service line growth. She joins Medical City Arlington after serving nearly three years as the vice president of operations for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, a Level I Trauma HCA Healthcare facility in Idaho Falls.

McClain earned a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University and graduated cum laude from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's in business administration. She is an American College of Healthcare Executives member and an active community volunteer with several non-profit organizations.
