Stroke services in Tarrant County
Medical City Arlington is proud to be Tarrant County’s first Primary Stroke Center. Our stroke services include neurohospitalists on call 24/7 for triage and immediate treatment of stroke patients. We also offer ongoing support services, such as a stroke support group and educational resources.
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
DBS is a revolutionary procedure which treats movement and neuromuscular disorders, such as essential tremors, tremors as a result of Parkinson’s disease, and dystonia. Medical City Arlington provides DBS evaluations, surgery and programming for patients who no longer respond to medications traditionally used to control tremors.
Epilepsy treatment
From our epilepsy monitoring units to advanced neurosurgery, our hospitals provide expert epilepsy care for children and adults. If you are a candidate for neurological surgery, the multidisciplinary epilepsy team can perform a craniotomy to pinpoint exactly where seizure activity takes place within the brain and determine which surgery is best for you.
Neurological rehabilitation
Medical City Arlington is here to support you not only through the procedure, but recovery as well! Recovering from a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or neurosurgery requires specialized care so a patient can return to the life they enjoyed before. Personalized neurorehabilitation plans at Medical City Arlington include speech, occupational and physical therapy.
Getting to our neurological department
For patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries, we also have a 24-bed neurotrauma ICU and neurosurgeons who provide 24/7 care.
Our neurological department is located on the fifth floor of the main tower at Medical City Arlington. We provide free lot parking for your convenience. For the safety of your children and to assist with the healing process for all patients, please do not bring children to the neuro ICU.
