Focused on what matters most

Because our specialists’ primary focus is always patient care, children and parents get the attention they deserve.

Whether you need a great pediatrician, emergency care without a lengthy wait or a second opinion from one of our specialists, it's here — all conveniently located on Forest Lane at Central Expressway in Dallas, Texas.

Medical City Children's Hospital is a proud partner of Make-A-Wish North Texas. Together, we are leaders in bringing "Magic to the Medicine" by referring the children we care for with life-threatening medical conditions to Make-A-Wish® North Texas.

When Magic and Medicine Come Together: Ashley's Disney Cruise Wish Come True

Aside from saving lives on a daily basis, our hospital also helped to make dreams a reality for one lucky patient!

In coordination with Nurses Week and Hospital Week 2016, our employees revealed a wish granted by Make-A-Wish North Texas through a surprise flash mob. The 13 year-old pediatric heart patient, Ashley, and her family were surprised with a Disney Cruise Line vacation! Ashley has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart.

Delicious Wishes

We were a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish North Texas's Delicious Wishes event and sponsored the Dessert Bar.

Our talented executive chef, Miguel A. Blasini, formerly with Wolfgang Puck's culinary team, served up caprese-style grilled watermelon salad garnished with feta cheese, lavender and mint, and drizzled with a honey-truffle reduction. Chef Miguel has been redefining the standards of delicious meals at Medical City.

Some of our nursing leaders, include Chief Nursing Officer Angie Buckmeier, also had a chance to reunite with one of our former patients and a Make-A-Wish ambassador, Tucker!

Introducing Cardiac Camp — the camp with a heart!

Medical City Children's Hospital in Dallas is pleased to announce our pediatric cardiac camp: Camp Brave Heart.

Camp Brave Heart provides a medically safe and fun summer camp experience to children ages 7 to 14 who have congenital heart defects or heart disease and have been or are being treated at Medical City Children's Hospital. The camp is free for current and former pediatric heart patients.

BEE Award nomination

The BEE award was established in 2016 by nurses at Jewish Hospital to recognize staff members for Beeing Exceptional Everyday. The nursing staff wanted to show appreciation and acknowledgement of exceptional professionals within our organization. The BEE award is presented throughout the year to honor the extraordinary care provided by those that go above and beyond to make an impact outside their daily duties. The support of other care providers is the foundation upon which a patient’s healthcare team can maintain exceptional care and advocacy.

Just as the daisy relies on the bee, the nurses rely on the outstanding teamwork provided by other healthcare professionals.

Want to say thank you to someone for “Beeing Exceptional Every day?”
