Our diagnostic imaging center

At our state-of-the-art facility, sophisticated imaging services play a crucial role in helping your care team provide accurate diagnoses and timely treatments.

Our medical imaging services

Located across the street from the main hospital, our center delivers high-quality and targeted imaging services, including:

  • Computerized tomography (CT) scans — An advanced diagnostic imaging procedure, CT scans may be used to detect and examine growths, tumors, blood clots, ruptured disks in the spine and different stages of cancer.
  • Magnetic imaging resonance (MRI) scans — This safe and effective imaging technique produces detailed images of the body's internal structures, allowing our specialists to examine organs, muscles, ligaments and tendons. MRI scans are usually used to take images of the brain, spine, thorax, vascular system and musculoskeletal system.
  • Ultrasounds — Also known as sonography, ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to capture images of your body's organs, vessels and tissues. This noninvasive imaging test can be used to examine and evaluate a full spectrum of conditions, including gallstones, tumors, cysts and inflammation.
  • X-rays — When X-rays move through your body, they produce images of your internal structures, particularly your bones. This quick and painless test can help our specialists examine breast cancer, lung infections, blocked blood vessels and fractures.

How to prepare for your examination

You'll be provided instructions for your specific exam, but here are some general guidelines to follow.

Preparing for your diagnostic test

Your exam can last anywhere from 10 minutes to more than an hour, and you may be asked to stand, lie down or hold your breath for parts of the procedure.

Leading up to the exam, your care team may ask you to refrain from drinking or eating.

If contrast agents, such as iodine or barium-sulphate are used, you may feel nauseous or experience a headache.

During the exam, you may be asked to remove jewelry and wear a hospital gown or a rubberized shield to cover your reproductive organs.
