Irving, Texas — Medical City Las Colinas proudly celebrates 15 consecutive years as a Texas Ten Step (TTS) Program facility, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in newborn and infant care. The milestone is announced in honor of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1–7) — a perfect time to spotlight this dedication to supporting families and healthy beginnings.

The program was developed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to recognize facilities that educate and encourage breastfeeding as the preferred feeding method for newborns and infants. The TTS designation is voluntary and based on self-reporting. Designations are granted for a two-year period.

"Giving our tiniest patients the healthiest start in life begins with breastfeeding,” says Christina Mathis, CEO Medical City Las Colinas. “For 15 years, our dedicated, compassionate and patient centered care team has worked diligently to maintain the Texas Ten Step Program designation — further emphasizing our steadfast promise to providing excellence always in every action, every patient, every time.”

In addition to breastfeeding support, the labor and delivery unit at Medical City Las Colinas offers an array of services allowing expecting parents to customize their birth experience. Additionally, the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) uses advanced technology and a collaborative team to make NICU admission and discharge for babies who require a higher level of care as smooth as possible.
