$50 million medical plaza includes five stories and adds multiple medical specialists.

September 24, 2025

Medical City McKinney celebrated a major campus milestone with the recent grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Medical City McKinney Medical Plaza building.

The event included hospital and community leaders, including McKinney Mayor Bill Cox, several city council members, McKinney Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lisa Hermes, and representatives from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, McKinney ISD, Lincoln Harris and Healthpeak Properties.

The $50 million building includes five stories with approximately 124,500 square feet of space to accommodate medical specialists and expand services including cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation and more. To enhance convenience for patients, visitors and staff, the Medical Plaza also includes a new parking lot on the west side of the campus, providing more than 750 additional parking spaces.

"Medical City McKinney Medical Plaza strengthens our system of care by enabling more specialized clinicians to practice closer to campus, ensuring seamless access to expert services for patients who may require hospitalization,” says CEO Mark Deno. "It is another positive reflection of our commitment to supporting the needs of our thriving, dynamic community and why so many turn to us as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence."

Construction is now underway on Medical City McKinney’s $142 million tower expansion. The expansion will add two stories to the hospital’s east tower and increase capacity in the medical-surgical, step-down and intensive care units. Enhancements to women’s services include refreshed labor and delivery, C-section and postpartum suites to match the design and amenities of the Women’s Hospital that opened in 2023.

The expansions are part of a broader investment of more than $1.7 billion in capital improvements over five years across Medical City Healthcare. From facility acquisitions, expansions and upgrades to high-quality service enhancements, the system of care is committed to healthcare excellence and community impact.
