Medical City Fort Worth achieves top Texas, national rankings for kidney transplants
Fort Worth, Texas — Medical City Fort Worth’s Transplant Institute continues to earn state and national accolades for excellence in kidney transplant care.
According to the latest data from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), Medical City Fort Worth is:
- No. 1 in Texas for shortest wait time to receive a deceased donor kidney transplant
- No. 1 in Texas for one-year post-transplant kidney survival
- No. 7 in the U.S. for deceased donor kidney transplant volume
- No. 5 in the U.S. for one-year kidney survival rates
These rankings reflect the institute’s commitment to exceptional patient outcomes, innovative transplant care and life-saving treatment advancements.

Medical City Fort Worth has consistently maintained one-year survival rates that rank among the top transplant programs in the country. In partnership with Medical City Dallas, the two programs performed 227 kidney transplants in the most recent reporting period, including 73 from living donors.
