Medical City Weatherford expands orthopedic services with spine surgery program
Weatherford, Texas — Medical City Weatherford has expanded its orthopedic services to include spine surgery, offering patients in Parker County convenient access to advanced care without traveling into the metroplex. This marks the hospital’s first spine surgery program in more than a decade.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to the care and improvement of human life,” says Allen Marsh, CEO of Medical City Weatherford. “By adding spine surgery, we are meeting the growing needs of Parker County and the surrounding communities by ensuring patients have access to advanced treatment options close to home.”
The new program introduces procedures that address common causes of back and neck pain.
- Posterior lumbar laminectomy and discectomy - removes part of the vertebra and damaged disc material to relieve pressure on spinal nerves, reducing pain and improving mobility
- Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) - treats herniated discs in the neck by removing the damaged disc and stabilizing the spine with a small implant, helping restore function and reduce nerve irritation
Posterior lumbar fusion procedures will be offered in the future. To support this expansion, the hospital has invested in advanced surgical technology and trained staff on specialized techniques to ensure safe, efficient care for these complex procedures.
