A transplant patient's heart usually lasts around 10 years. Donald received his over 25 years ago and has been able to see his daughter grow up.

An organ donor saved Donald's life by giving him a new heart and more than two decades of life that he otherwise wouldn't have had. A recipient of a new heart at Medical City Dallas in 1991, Donald's successful transplant has extended his life by more than 25 years, allowing him to share precious memories with his loved ones.
