Mom's first Mother's Day made extra special thanks to Medical City Las Colinas nurse
What might have been a less-than-ideal Mother’s Day for a new mom was made unforgettable thanks to a thoughtful handmade gift from Medical City Las Colinas nurse, Megan Lambe.
Rajani Mandava delivered her baby at 31-weeks due to complications related to preeclampsia. Thanks to the Medical City Las Colinas nurses and staff, Rajani and her husband welcomed a baby boy named Medhansh Sai. Because of his premature delivery Medhansh was admitted into the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
That is where Mandava met Lambe, a NICU nurse. While caring for the baby and in conversations, Lambe realized she and Mandava had a lot in common, especially when it came to motherhood. Realizing Mandava would spend her first Mother’s Day with her baby in the NICU, Lambe presented Mandava with a custom printed onesie that reads “Mom is my Bestie,” and a hand-painted and written Mother’s Day card with a special message, complete with baby’s footprint.
“Everyone has taken wonderful care of me and my son,” said Mandava. “They have been so kind and generous to me and my baby.”
