Gynecological cancer treatment
Cancer treatment options available at Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas and Medical City Plano include gynecological cancer surgery. We offer procedures such as hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and excision (partial removal of an organ) along with nonsurgical options, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Cervical cancers we treat
We treat all types of cervical cancers, including:
- Squamous cell carcinomas — Affect skin cells and are the most common type of cervical cancer, accounting for roughly 90% of cases
- Adenocarcinomas — Form in the tissue found in blood vessels and organs
- Adenosquamous carcinomas (mixed carcinomas) — Have features of both types of cervical cancer
Ovarian cancers we treat
We treat ovarian cancers, including:

- Ovarian germ cell tumors — Make up about 2% of all ovarian cancers and develop from the cells that produce the eggs (ova)
- Ovarian stromal tumors — Account for about 1% of all ovarian cancers and often cause abnormal vaginal bleeding

We treat many cancers of the endometrium (the innermost lining layer of the uterus), also called endometrial carcinomas, including:
- Endometrioid carcinomas — The most common type of endometrial adenocarcinoma
- Uterine carcinosarcomas — Have features of both endometrial carcinomas and uterine sarcomas

Cancer support
We know a cancer diagnosis affects more than your physical health. Cancer support groups are a major part of our cancer care program. If you've just learned about a cancer diagnosis, are supporting a loved one through treatment or are transitioning into survivorship, we can connect you with a local community for ongoing care.
