Each year, the readers of DFWChild Magazine have the opportunity to vote for the things they like best about Dallas-Fort Worth, including fun things to see and do as well as professionals and services that stand above the rest.

In 2022, Medical City Healthcare hospitals were chosen as Best Hospital to Have a Baby in all four counties the publication serves, as part of its Best for Families 2022.

Congratulations to the four Medical City Healthcare hospitals voted Best Hospital to Have a Baby:

What makes Medical City the Best Hospital to Have a Baby?

Why did readers of DFWChild Magazine cast their votes for Medical City Healthcare hospitals? Here is what some of the families who had their babies at our hospitals said, in their own words.

Chloe says third time is a charm at Medical City Plano

Chloe Wilbert recently welcomed her third child at Medical City Plano.

“The labor and delivery nurses are UNMATCHED,” Chloe says. “Best in the business.”

“One nurse in particular, Taylor Woodruff, made us feel as if we were her only patients! She was so on top of it I really don’t have words to express my gratitude for her. My family fell in love with her! She did everything humanly possible to make me feel comfortable during labor. We never waited longer than 5 minutes when we needed her either. We wish her all the best!”

“I always tell people I’ll never go to another hospital because I have had such great experiences. Don’t change what you’re doing, Medical City Plano!”

It’s a win for the Nguyens at Medical City Arlington

Born weighing 450 grams (less than a pound) at 23 weeks gestation, Duc Nguyen and his wife finally got to take their baby girl, Paris, home after 116 days in Medical City Arlington's high-level NICU. Smaller than a soda can at birth, Paris is the hospital's smallest patient ever.

“They say she’s a miracle,” Duc says. “But without them, the miracle wouldn’t happen.”

Rachel and Travis give Medical City Lewisville high marks

Travis and Rachel Bagley were both impressed with their childbirth experience at Medical City Lewisville.

“Medical City Lewisville has a strong reputation for providing the highest quality of care,” says Rachel. “There was no question where we were going to have our daughter. Medical City Lewisville provided the high level of care we expected, and we loved the facilities. The mother/baby unit was comfortable and beautiful — like a hotel room — with pretty murals and an attractive interior design. We brought a lot of things and especially appreciated the well-planned storage space.”

“We’d heard stories about how some hospitals don’t always acknowledge the parent’s wishes,” Travis says. “Medical City Lewisville caters to parents and customized the experience to accommodate our needs and desires. We couldn’t have selected a better place to have our daughter.”

It’s a boy for Cassie at Medical City Plano

Cassie Greenwald chose Medical City Plano for the birth of both of her boys, including the newest addition to the family, Everett.

“I recently delivered my second baby at Medical City Plano and I can’t say enough good things about the entire labor and delivery and postpartum team,” says Cassie Greenwald. “They go above and beyond, are kind, attentive and help put you at ease after everything you just went through. Thank you to everyone at Medical City Plano who took care of me and my babies!!!”

A Medical City Plano surgical tech delivers Erica and Richard’s dream at Medical City Dallas

After surviving cervical cancer, Erica Gray was told she would be unable to have children. While she and her husband, Richard, were considering surrogacy, Erica’s oncologist made a connection with a Medical City Plano surgical tech, Kasia Birdwell, who offered to carry baby Gray and then gave birth to him at Medical City Dallas hospital.

“Medical City is all about putting the patient first,” says Kasia. “And for me, being able to put Erica first and help her make this family; It’s just been an incredible journey.”

“She’s incredible,” says Erica about Kasia.

Medical City Arlington and Medical City Children’s Hospital provide lifesaving care for Christine’s daughter

Shortly after welcoming their baby girl at Medical City Arlington, the Seligmans received the news that a blue spot was found on newborn Connlie’s back. Despite the hospital’s high-level NICU and capability of caring for very ill infants, the labor and delivery team recognized that Connlie needed expert congenital heart care. Connlie was quickly transferred by helicopter to the Heart Center at Medical City Children's Hospital, where she received world-class congenital heart surgery.

“We were very blessed that we had a successful surgery and Connlie is doing well,” Christine says.
