Medical City Weatherford Earns an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade
Weatherford, Texas — Medical City Weatherford has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. The designation recognizes the hospital’s strong commitment to protecting patients from preventable harm and delivering safe, high-quality healthcare.
Leapfrog assigns letter grades, “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F,” to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures, including rates of errors, injuries, and infections, as well as systems in place to prevent them.
“This recognition reflects the daily efforts of our dedicated physicians, nurses and support colleagues who consistently prioritize patient safety, communication and high-quality care,” says Allen Marsh, CEO of Medical City Weatherford. “We are proud to offer advanced care close to home, backed by the strength of our Medical City Healthcare system of care and the community investments that helps to elevate everything we do.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only ratings program focused exclusively on how well hospitals protect patients from medical harm. The program is peer reviewed, transparent and free to the public, with grades updated each fall and spring.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Medical City Weatherford, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
