At our breast care centers, your mammogram is read by specialized breast imaging radiologists—some of the most highly trained and skilled breast specialists in the country. Our radiologists:

• Receive extra training on interpreting breast tissue and tissue changes seen in mammography
• Spend more than 80 percent of their time interpreting mammograms, including screening and diagnostics
• Are audited annually on their screening and interpretation skills

If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, you'll have the support of a team of specialists in medical, surgical and radiation oncology, imaging, pathology, genetic counseling and physical medicine. They will work together with nurse navigators, oncology nurses and social workers to determine a breast cancer treatment plan that's right for you. Breast reconstruction typically involves multiple stages, usually with a minimum of two surgeries. In most cases, the first surgery is the "biggest," with subsequent surgeries typically performed as outpatient procedures. For example, if a woman has a mastectomy (breast removal) to remove one breast, it may be necessary or desired to have a procedure involving the other breast to achieve symmetry.
